- July 28: Since some students want to ask questions about the NP-hard reductions before solving Question 6 of A3, I change my office hours this week to Monday 4-6pm. I'll post the TA office hours later.

Updates: 1- You will receive 20% in each question (except the bonus question) if you leave it completely blank or say "I don't know".
      2- (Questions 4(a)-(b)) Write a linear program whose solution (a,b,c) ... [It doesn't change your solution though.]
      3- (Question 6(a)) a collection S1, S2, ..., Sm of subsets of A.

- July 6: There is a TA office hour before the midterm on Monday July 8, 5-6pm in BA3201.
- July 5: The midterm exam is on Tuesday July 9, 2013. It contains questions on Greedy algorithms, Dynamic programming, and Network Flow topics. The midterm lasts 2 hours. The location is EX 300 (the examination facility building located at 255 McCaul Street). The midterm exam starts at 6pm. Be there on-time.

- June 13: Starting this week, we will have two tutorial sections. Students with last name A-Le can go to room BA2139, and students with last name Li-Z can go to room BA1180.
- June 9: I fixed a typo in the lecture notes of week 3. Page 5's title: Single-Source Shortest Paths with real weights. According to the problem definition the weights are real numbers. The tile was "Integer" weights previously that is a typo!

- June 6: The poll is now closed. You have two grace days in this term. We do not have the 4% lateness penalty policy anymore.
- June 5: I have added an anonymous feedback page to the course website. Feedback of all kinds is welcome.
- June 3: I have created a poll in Piazza for a change in grace days and penalties for late assignment submissions. The poll closes Tuesday night. Please vote!
- June 2: The help center opens Monday to Thursday 4-6pm at BA2230. Feel free to take advantage of it as extra office hours.
- June 2: There will be two TA office hours for Assignment 1: Monday June 3, 6-7pm at BA2230 and Tuesday June 4, 5-6pm at BA3289.

- May 23: Assignment 1 is updated to fix a typo in Question 6's hint. Please see the updated version.
- May 23: Lecture and tutorial notes for week 2 are posted: Lecture 2, Tutorial 1.
- May 22: Assignment 1 contains 6 questions on Greedy algorithms (Interval Scheduling, Minimum Spanning Tree, Huffman Encoding) and 1 question on Dynamic programming. We will go through the Minimum spanning tree and the Huffman encoding topics tomorrow in the lecture. We will start talking about Dynamic programming on next Tuesday. Start Assignment 1 by working on Questions 2 and 6.
- May 22: We use 3 rooms for tutorials. Students with last name A-La should go to BA2139, Le-So to BA2159, and Su-Z to BA3008.
- May 22: The first day of tutorials is tomorrow (May 23) 7pm-8pm.
