Help!
Every student has moments in a course when they get stuck on some concept or problem. It's great to try to solve it yourself, but you should also consider taking advantage of some of the help available to you:
- I have office hours during which you can ask any question you like about the course. Please use them!
- The CSC Help Centre, in BA 2270, is a place where students can drop in and ask course or computer science related questions. It is open Monday to Thursday from 2-4pm, starting Tuesday May 22.
- The discussion boards are available 24 hours a day. Please do not post solutions, or partial solutions, to the discussion boards.
Often a bottleneck in learning is a lack of exercises with which to practice or material from which you can learn. Accordingly, here are several links that cover material similar to that which we cover in the course.
- The university of Waterloo has an online introduction to python. This contains both additional lectures and additional exercises.
- Additional lectures on python and computer science from Khan Academy.
- Additional lectures on python from Software Carpentry
- Code academy has information on programming both in general and for python specifically
- If all else fails.
