Kuei (Jack) Sun

University of Toronto

I studied at the University of Victoria for my bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering with Software Specialization. The highlight of my study there was winning the artificial intelligence contest (for 3 more consecutive years as previous AI). I worked at Blue Castle Games (now Capcom Vancouver) as an Online Software Engineer for two years before deciding to start my journey to a Ph.D degree (ABD) at the University of Toronto.

Interests and Hobbies

Video Games

I play video games once in a while now. Typically, I play for the storyline and not competitively, but there are (multiple) exceptions.

2024:
- Started Final Fantasy VII Rebirth (did not complete).
- Almost completed V Rising (could not kill Dracula).
2023: Casually playing Diablo 4.
2022:
- Specialized in healing classes throughout World of Warcraft: Shadowlands.
- Played a bit of Elden Ring (did not complete).
2021: My YouTube Channel - A playlist of me playing Among Us, as an imposter.
2020:
- Achieved Master Tier in Teamfight Tactics during Season 3.
- Completed Final Fantasy VII Remake

Board Games

I enjoy statistical analysis and game theory for all the board games I play, especially those with heavy emphasis on deduction, bluffing and player interaction, such as Resistance: Avalon, Broom Service, Codenames, Wavelength, Decrypto, Coup (with the Reformation expansion), and poker. Anime

Current favorites include: Spy × Family, Demon Slayer, Made in Abyss, That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime, Steins;Gate, Death Note, Parasyte, Attack on Titan, Psycho-Pass, and Erased (Boku dake ga Inai Machi).

Sports

I recreationally play badminton, tennis, and ping pong. I also enjoy hiking and kayaking during summer. In winter times, I snowboard occasionally.

Others

I am pretty good at singing, and I also love going to escape rooms!
