The 2011 version of our autodesk software has arrived, with a new licencing system which will have to work alongside the old one (hopefully).  I’ll be testing it this week.

• Set up ipad and development environment for student
• Roll out of 2011 Autodesk products (maya, 3ds, sketchbook, autocad)
• Replace faulty drive in dell running vicon software in 5177

Still more updating and last minute work to help with the siggraph Asia paper deadline.

I’m mostly concentrating on software updates this week, but if anything interesting happens I’ll add a post about it.

This week I’m working on:

• kernel update to fax server (and ironing out issues with new fax system)
• Updating Pixar and Autodesk (Maya, Sketchbook) licenses
• removing locate package from rock’s cluster rolls.

• work on paper publication form for dgp website
• debian package for fax specific software

Ida.dgp is now serving u3 and u4 home directories. We will be testing a new file system over the next month or so, to see if it will be a suitable replacement for both the linux and windows file systems.

• Continue testing win 7 setup and printer installation
• Maya renewal paperwork
• Test non active directory install scripts on xp & 32 bit win 7

This week the new windows updates have been pushed back to the weekend while Alan and I have been dealing with an unexpected crash while trying to mirror the sata drive in zeus.

• update of hydra nfs to include automount instructions for ida

I still need to push the windows updates out, and will be doing that mid-week.  Here is a list of the other things to do on my list:

• hylafax config in a debian package
• server to host sata drive for zeus

I also have various admin tasks and will be following up with Karan to continue work on the paper publishing system for the dgp homepage.
