CSC321 Spring 2016 - Tests

The final exam and midterm will be based, in part, on the homework assignments and will assume that you have completed them by yourselves. More generally, you are responsible for all material covered in class, in tutorials, in the readings and on the assignments. However, you will not be required to write any Matlab code, and you are not responsible for historical facts mentioned in class or on the slides (or anywhere else).

The midterm test (worth 20% of your final grade) will be held in tutorial on Friday February 26. It will start promptly at 1:10pm and will last for 50 minutes. It will be closed book.
Here is an example midterm test from a previous year.

The final exam (worth 40% of your final grade) will be two hours and will be closed book. It will cover the entire course.

The midterm test and final exam will follow the "I don't know" policy: if you leave a question (or part) blank and write "I don't know", you will receive 20% of the marks for that question (pr part). Otherwise, if you get the answer wrong, you may receive 0 marks.

Missed Tests

  • Missed tests will get a score of zero except in the case of an official Student Medical Certificate or a written (not email) request submitted at least one week before the test date and approved by the instructor. In case of approval, a score for a missed midterm test will be estimated from the final exam score.
