A Golog/Prolog interface to a Sony’s ERS-7 robot is freely available for download from here.

Sony’s AIBO robots have a mono color camera, several sensors and effectors (joints, etc). The available interface can run on a remote UNIX server and connect to the robot wirelessly via TCP/IP. The current version works with ECLiPSe Prolog, but it should be easy to modify to work with other Prologs.

Using this interface, one can move either concurrently or at different moments of time any joints of the robot. One can also execute different sensing actions. It is possible to execute also more complex actions, such as “walk” and “turn” at specified moments of time.

This interface has been implemented by Huy Pham with the intention that it will be useful for cognitive robotics
research and for teaching. As some of you know, from March 2006, Sony does not manufacture new AIBO robots, but they are still available from some retailers and one can buy them second-hand. These robots are relatively inexpensive, reliable and there is extensive software developed for them.
