Overview
I am currently working as a software engineer with Google. Previously, I worked at Idee Inc., a Toronto-based firm that provides visual search solutions and services. I finished my masters degree in November, 2005. I was student with the machine learning group in the Department of Computer Science at the University of Toronto. I worked with Rich Zemel on methods for classifying data items that can naturally be arranged in sequences as well as on conditional random field models for higher-order data. I completed my undergraduate degree in Computing Science (Honors) at the University of Alberta in 2003.
My academic interests include probabilistic models for machine learning and Bayesian methods and their application to real-world problems. I am also interested in the application of more general computational tools and techniques to problems in other disciplines.
