Assignments

Assignment 1

Assignment 1 was released on Sat Jan 23, and is due Feb 12. We will cover the material needed for Q4 and Q5 during Week 3 of class (Jan 25-29).

If you want to type your solutions up in LaTeX, then the .tex code for the problems is available on Quercus under the files tab. In the case of disagreement between the .tex and the .pdf here, the .pdf on this page contains the correct questions.

You can find a list of various supported ways to remote access teach.cs here: https://www.teach.cs.toronto.edu//using_cdf.html

EDIT: Minor typo corrected in Q4: the new edge formed by the closure is e_{(b,c)} not the already existing e_{(a,c)}.

REMINDER: As per the Collaboration Policy in the Course Info Sheet, you're free to discuss with other students. However: you must list their names on your submission, and your writeup must be your own and done in isolation

EDIT2: A minor discrepancy corrected in Q6: The experiments to be run are those outlined in the table, and experiments need only be averaged over three trials.

Assignment 2

Assignment 2 was released on Thur Feb 25, and is due March 26. We will cover the material needed for Q4 and Q5 during Week 6 of class (Feb 22-26), the material for Q6 in Week 7, and the material for Q7 in Week 8.

If you want to type your solutions up in LaTeX, then the .tex code for the problems is available on Quercus under the files tab. In the case of disagreement between the .tex and the .pdf here, the .pdf on this page contains the correct questions.

EDIT: Minor clarifications to Q3. Exponent is 1, not -1, and Q3c reworded from "this power law" to "a power law" for clarity.
