Course Requirements
(These requirements are subject to adjustment, depending on the
make-up of the class.)
All students, including regular auditors:
You are expected to do all required readings, and to come to class
prepared with questions, comments, etc. Knowledgeable discussion is
key to the success of the class.
You will also be asked to do one (regular auditors) or at most two
(registered students) presentation(s) of a reading. Presentations
will be relatively short (~15-20 minutes), since the emphasis will be
on class discussion.
Please see this web page or Word document for guidelines (and
deadlines) for preparing your presentation.
Students taking the course for credit:
In addition, you will be asked to write a paper on a topic relevant to
the readings for the class, or to develop a relevant project. Term
paper/project guidelines and the schedule of due dates are here (web page) or here (ps file).
For registered students, the mark will be determined by class
participation (20%), class presentations (15% each), and paper/project (50%).
