I was born in 1977 and grew up in Tehran. I earned a BS in Computer Engineering from Sharif University of Technology (Tehran) and subsequently attended graduate school at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
My PhD was supervised by Edgar A. Ramos and I was co-advised by Sariel Har-Peled. I finished my PhD on December 2006 and started as a post-doc with Pankaj K. Agarwal at Duke University. Subsequently, I held postdoctoral fellowships in both theory and graphics (DGP) groups at the University of Toronto Compute Science Department. Since mid 2012, I have worked as a 3D scientist and developer at Side Effects Software.
My spouse, Azadeh Farzan, is also a computer scientist. She is an Assistant Professor at the University of Toronto Computer Science Department.
