Exam office hours
I'll be holding special pre-exam office hours on Thursday, August 5
from 1pm to 3pm in my UTSC office S-625, and downtown
on Friday, August 6 from 3pm to 4pm in BA4261.
Bring any and all questions about any
part of the course, past exams, etc. I should be available for some
limited time before and after these official office hour times if necessary,
by appointment and by email.
Past exams and a summary of possible exam coverage is posted on the Exams page. More-or-less complete course notes are now posted on the Lectures page. Be sure to note the time and location of the exam from the official exam schedule! Good luck to all!
Web page down tonight
I've been informed that a planned outage will take place this evening
(Thursday, July 3) from 6pm to 8pm during which the course web page will
likely be unavailable (for at least some of the time).
Clarification for A2 programming question
A couple clarifications were posted to the
Assignments page regarding computing balance
factors.
No class this week
A reminder that there are no classes this week at UTSC due to the
Canada Day holiday and Reading Week. My office hours this week are by
appointment, so if you want to see me, send me an email and I'll meet
with you.

page. I have included solutions when I have them.
Extra exam office hours
As mentioned in class yesterday, I'll hold extra pre-midterm exam
office hours 2-4pm on Tuesday, June 17 in my office (SW 625).
Bring any and all your questions from lectures, notes, assignments
or past exams.
A1 marks posted
The assignment 1 marks are finally available online on the
Marks page. A recent web server upgrade
broke some stuff, which took me until now to work around.
Be sure to check that things are recorded correctly, as these
marks are generated directly from my records. You may also want to
change your password so that your grades remain private in case
anyone knows your student number.
A1 hints and programming question
I have posted a few hints and clarifications for assignment 1,
and posted the programming question. I have also posted some answers
to frequently asked questions about submitting the programming portion.
All this is on the Assignments page.
Lecture notes online
Notes have been posted for the lectures to date. Please note that these
notes are not a replacement for the notes you make during class, but are
intended to supplement them in case you don't get time to write something down
correctly. Sometimes the notes I'll post are similar to what I cover in
class; other times they may be less or more detailed.
The "tutorials" are often integrated into the classes this term.
The notes are available on the Lectures page.
w1 posted
The written portion of assignment 1 is now available from the
Assignments page.
The programming question will be posted in a few days.
Welcome!
Welcome to CSC B63! All course announcements will be posted to this page,
in reverse chronological order. Be sure to check back often.
Tutorials start this week
There will be a tutorial held this Thursday, May 8.
It will be a review of proving worst-case running time and
asymptotic notation, slanted to getting you in practice for
solving the types of problems you'll see in this course.
