- Using Grants to Fund Entrance Scholarships. The proposal is to allow a faculty member to fund a Departmental Entrance Scholarship, for a specific student, from his/her grant. The money would be committed to the entering student and would stay with that student, even if the student decided to switch to another research area and supervisor.

- Discussion (continued) on graduate course offerings. See issues to be discussed:
- High student workloads reported in some courses.
- Late grades, e.g., a planned extra term for projects.
- Grad teaching credits; cross-listed courses, min course size.
- Increase the flexibility of the breadth rules to allow for more non-CS courses.
- Other issues?

- Reminder: Scores for DCS awards are needed from the GAC faculty by next Friday, Nov. 7.
- Proposal: Increase the value of the max stipend used to compute top-up.
- Discussion on graduate course offerings:
- Better bookkeeping and reporting for both course content and when courses have been offered in the past.
- Student feedback on courses has not been provided to students.
- Reported lack of suitable introductory courses.
- Grad course scheduling. For example, do we wish to have scheduling oversight for some introductory courses?
- Minimum course size for graduate teaching credit.
- High student workloads reported in some courses.
- Late grades, e.g., a planned extra term for projects.
