CSC 2529 Character Animation assignment

Push Puppet
A frame from the animation I built this animation in Maya 5 using subdivision surfaces to construct the skin geometry. There are two instances of the figure. I used IK handles at the hips, with the IK chains ending at the ankles. These handles are parented to the pelvis so that the pelvis can be moved while keeping the feet of the small instance locked to the the pedestal. I used the grasp mel script to get the large instance to hold the pedestal. All of the motion was key framed.

Thanks to Mike Pratscher, Eron Steger, and expecially Alex Kolliopoulos, who helped me past some of the quirks of Maya. Alex also provided the template for this web page.
