UofT campus
Here are some of the pictures I took on the UofT campus!
Food
Nian Yi Kuai Zi (Scarborough) 拈一筷子
It serves delicious and very spicy Szechuan cuisine. It also has a downtown location called 苍蝇馆子
Ann's Donburi (downtown) 福牛顺潮汕牛肉锅
It is a great place for beef hotpots as their beef is high quality. It is not suitable for eating alone, though. Also, only order 1 dipping sauce for every 4 people.
Dong Kee Chinese Restaurant 东记海鲜舫
An authentic Cantonese restaurant known for its eel rice. Their beef and other stir-fried dishes are also great! It usually has a long line-up.
Gyubee Japanese Grill (Bloor)
An all-you-can-eat Asian barbeque place. Some of the meat is high quality. You get a discount if you pay by cash.
Yummy Korean Food Restaurant
A go-to place for theory group's group dinner with affordable price. My favourite dish is the fried potato pancake, which is very crispy.
The Salad House
Affordable lunch place for a balanced diet. The line-up is long during lunchtime so go either before 11:45am or after 1pm. Open only on weekdays.
My Roti Place/My Dosa Place
It is more like a fast-food restaurant. I like their lamb vindaloo roti which is very spicy (I go with medium spiciness). Their combo with desserts is also good.
Banh Mi Nguyen Huong
Very affordable and flexible banh mi place. If you are not super hungry but still want dinner/lunch, getting a banh mi there is nice!
Drinks and Desserts
- CSSU at the University of Toronto: If you are a UofT student, you can go to CSSU to buy affordable pops, ice creams, and snacks. They accept credit card. They are open if you see the door is open. Location: 2nd floor, Bahen Centre for Information Technology. (near BA 2270)
- Fruiteao: An amazing place for mango slush. Personally, it is the best mango slush in town. Do not order the large cup as it is too large. Location: 109 McCaul St, Unit 39, Toronto, ON, M5T 3K5. (inside a food court)
Coffee Shops Recommended by Swastik
These coffee shops are recommended by Swastik, a frequent coffee consumer. According to Swastik, they have top quality cappuccinos and flat whites.
- Paul's Coffee Truck. This is a truck parked at King's College Circle.
- Carbonic Coffee. Location: 37 Baldwin St, Toronto, ON, M5T 1L1.
Clothing
- D&M Footware Clearance: They sell Blundstone winter boots, which is really comfortable and keeps me warm in Toronto winter. Location: 566 Yonge St, Toronto, ON, M4Y 1Y8.
Transportation
- PRESTO Card: Presto card is used for taking TTC (Toronto Transit Commission), which includes subway, buses, street cars, etc. You can now add a Presto card to your Apple Wallet, which is quite convenient.
