Babak Taati

My research applies computer vision and machine learning techniques to develop and evaluate intelligent health monitoring technologies that improve safety, comfort, and quality of life for older adults. Some of my active projects advance methods to reduce fall risk (see here and here), improve pain management (read more here and here), and develop automated assessment methods for Parkinson’s disease. Prospective Students:

  • International Students: Unfortunately, I don't have the budget to recruit international students. If you send me an email, I usually try to find the time to respond and say the same thing.
  • Canadian Citizens and Permanent Residents: I'm always interested in talking with strong applicants. If you meet the DCS admission criteria, send me an email and include your CV, unofficial transcripts, and GitHub link. Put 'prospective student - apple orange pear' in the subject line so I know you've looked at my webpage!
  • Do not write or edit your email with ChatGPT or similar tools. It's instantly recognizable and I automatically delete those.
  • I am not looking for interns or visiting students, with or without funding, and will not answer emails about this.
