Aakar Gupta

I am a postdoctoral fellow at the David R. Cheriton School of Computer Science, University of Waterloo. I completed my PhD from University of Toronto where I was advised by Prof. Ravin Balakrishnan. My research interests are in the area of Human-Computer Interaction. I create novel interaction techniques for wearables and mixed reality using a wide range of techniques including sensing, haptics, signal processing, machine learning, and psychophysics. I am also interested in exploring accessible interactions and technologies for the developing world. Prior to my PhD, I worked in this area in collaboration with Dr. Bill Thies and Dr. Ed Cutrell at Microsoft Research India.
