Announcements
Course announcements will be posted here as the course progresses.
- [Oct 16] Because the TA who usually holds the 10-11am tutorial in SS 1072 is not feeling well, students in that section should instead sit in SS 1074 this morning.
That is, today (Oct 16), only one tutorial will run in the morning 10-11am slot, which will be in SS 1074. All morning students should attend the tutorial in this room. - [Oct 14] Here are the details of Midterm 1.
- Date: Friday, October 23
- Time & Location: Your assigned tutorial room in your assigned tutorial slot (see below if you need to sit in a different tutorial)
- Format: In-person
- Syllabus: Game Theory. All lectures from Sep 14 to Oct 7 (included), from the start of game theory up to (and including) Stackelberg games.
- Aid: You are allowed to bring one 8.5" x 11" sheet with handwritten notes on one side.
Midterm 1 and solutions from the past 3 iterations of the course are uploaded to the course webpage. They all had the same syllabus as this year and the same duration (50 minutes). Please note that students were not expected to finish the bonus question during the 50 minutes; the bonus question was only for those students who finished the midterm well before 50 minutes and had time left (and some students indeed finished the bonus question too).
Q: What can I do if I am unable to write the midterm in my assigned slot?
You MUST write to me at csc304-2026-09@cs.toronto.edu by Thursday, Oct 15, 11:59pm ET, provide a legitimate reason, and indicate your availability to write the midterm.
If you can write the midterm in another tutorial slot, there is a good chance that I will approve you to sit in another tutorial slot, but depending on the reason you provide, I may decline.
If you cannot write the midterm on that day, I may give you a number of options depending on your reason. - [Sep 30] Homework 1 is posted. It is due by 11:59pm on Oct 16. The last topic it covers is zero-sum games, which we will finish by Monday, Oct 5.
- [Sep 18] I'm traveling next week, so our head TA, Ben Cookson, will substitute me for the lectures on 9/21 and 9/23. There will be no office hours next week. If you have any questions, feel free to ask on Piazza (either publicly or privately to me). I'll try to respond in a timely manner.
