Tutorial 11 - November 25, 2003

  1. We will review what is required for an architectural design document.  This is needed for A3. 
  2. Here is a template for an architecture document from the Rational Unified Process (also available in MS Word).
  3. A sample solution will not be posted here since it usually limits creativity.  In case you have difficulty following the tutorial material and the template, you should make use of the office hours and news group.

Tutorial 10 - November 18, 2003

  1. We will cover Template Method and Strategy patterns as well as the first introduction to architecture.
  2. The slides are available for patterns and architecture separately.
  3. The handouts are also available for patterns and architecture separately.

Tutorial 9 - November 11, 2003

  1. The notes are available now.
  2. We will cover Observer, Mediator and Visitor patterns. 

Tutorial 8 - November 4, 2003

  1. The notes are available now.
  2. We will cover Bridge, Flyweight and Decorator patterns.  The Composite and Facade are straightforward, you should be able to review them on your own.

Tutorial 7 - October 28, 2003

  2. We will cover Adapter and Proxy patterns.  Examples used are from CSC407 Fall 2002 A2.
  3. Format of presenting patterns is illustrated as well.  However, you do not have to provide an explicit diagram for each pattern IF you already have a diagram that illustrates the pattern in use.

  2. This tutorial reviews the remaining creational patterns and summarizes.

Tutorial 5 - October 14, 2003

  2. This tutorial reviews 2 creational patterns and gives some tips for assignment.

Tutorial 4 - October 7, 2003

  1. The notes for this week are available.
  2. We will do a hands-on exercise to see the process of developing the OOA model.
  3. The same problem statement will be used.

Tutorial 3 - September 30, 2003

  2. The problem statement is taken from A1 of the spring term 2003.  The complete assignment statement is available at CSC407 Spring 2003.
  3. This tutorial gives a flavor of how to do an Object Oriented Analysis of a given requirements statement. 

You are encouraged to go to this tutorial since it includes all that you need for your A2 part (a).
