I'm a Ph.D. student in Computational Linguistics group at University of Toronto, under the supervision of Professor Graeme Hirst. I finished my M.Sc. program in CL group at UofT as well. Before coming to Canada, I completed my undergraduate in the major of Infomation Security at Shanghai Jiaotong University, China.
Education
- 2011-current: Ph.D. at University of Toronto
- 2009-2011: M.Sc. at University of Toronto
- 2005-2009: B.Eng at Shanghai Jiaotong University
Research Interests

Before my research life in UofT, I was
interested in information visualization regarding textual content. My
undergraduate thesis was about a real-time search result visualization system by clustering similar
documents (the figure to the left is our prototype system). I also worked on opinion mining in e-commerce area during my internship at eBay research lab-China. |
During my Master's program at UofT, I was studying argumentation, and since then, I've been looking at discourse coherence, authorship attribution, and their relevance in detecting Alzheimer's disease. Regarding my Ph.D.'s thesis topic, I'd like to synthesize the problems in these topics, and also other topics of my broad interest in Computational Linguistics.
