5 DIGICOLOR Hardware Reference Manual Connector Descriptions Anyone who wishes to install cables into a DIGICOLOR device's connectors can refer to this chapter for connector location information and pin out signal assignments.

Chapter 5 Table of Contents This chapter contains information on connector locations, connector characteristics, and pin out signal assignments for the DIGICOLOR Mother and Daughter devices, as well as for the P12 Analog Video Signal Cable Box.

This section contains information on connector locations (Figure 5-1), connector characteristics (Table 5-1), and pin out signal assignments for the DIGICOLOR Mother device.

System pixel clock (SPC) timing signals are received or transmitted via the DIGICOLOR Mother device's P3 connector. This connector is a 10-pin front panel connector. See Figure 5-2 for the pin locations of this connector and Table 5-2 for its pin assignments.

There are 3 (8-bit) MAXbus digital transmitter ports on the DIGICOLOR Mother device. These ports are located at MAXbus connectors P4, P9, and P10. They are 14-pin front panel connectors. Refer to Figure 5-3 for the pin locations of these connectors and Table 5-3 for their pin assignments.

There are 4 (8-bit) MAXbus digital receiver ports on the DIGICOLOR Mother device. These ports are located at MAXbus connectors P5, P6, P7, and P8. They are 14-pin front panel connectors. Refer to Figure 5-3 for the pin locations of these connectors and Table 5-3 for their pin assignments.

There are 2 VMEbus standard connectors on the DIGICOLOR Mother device. They are called the P1 and P2 connectors. They are 96-pin backplane connectors. Refer to Figure 5-4 for the pin locations of these connectors and Table 5-4 and Table 5-5 for their respective pin assignments.

This section contains information on connector locations (Figure 5-5), connector characteristics (Table 5-6), and pin out signal assignments for the DIGICOLOR Daughter device.

Processing rect (PR) timing signals are distributed via the DIGICOLOR Daughter device's P4 connector. This connector is a 14-pin front panel connector. See Figure 5-6 for the pin locations of this connector and Table 5-7 for its pin assignments.

There is 1 analog transceiver port on the DIGICOLOR Daughter device. This port is located at connector P12. It is a 34-pin front panel connector. Refer to Figure 5-7 for the pin locations of this connector and Table 5-8 for its pin assignments.

This section contains information on connector locations (Figure 5-8) and connector characteristics (Table 5-9) for the DIGICOLOR P12 Analog Video Signal Cable Box device. This device transmits and receives data to and from the DIGICOLOR Daughter device's P12 analog transceiver connector via a ribbon cable connection to its own compatible P12 analog transceiver connector.
