Terminal Problem Report

If you just experienced a problem while working on a terminal at CSLab, please answer the following questions and email me (vargai at cs).

1. What apps machine were you logged into?

2. What terminal were you using? (Each terminal has a label with a name like, LTSP-A149, Shakespeare-name.LTSP, Tree.ltsp)

3. What environment do you use (default is Gnome)?

4. Can you describe the problem, the more detail the better? (For example, PDF file open in acroread, scroll is very slow, about 1 line/second)

5. What applications and how many windows were running when you noticed the problem?

6. What is the time and date you noticed the problem?

7. How long have you been logged in on this terminal before you noticed the problem? Do you usually log out or lock your terminal overnight? If you usually lock your terminal, how often do you log out (weekly, monthly, only when forced to by downtime/crash)?

8. Does this problem reoccur regularly, randomly, or is this the first time this has happened?

9. If you were viewing a file, was the file online or on your home directory?

10. What browser were you using and how many windows/tabs were open?

11. How large a file was it and did it contain any special graphics, pictures, font types?

12. Can you send me a copy or a link to the file?
