Some Comments on Marking of Homework 1:

First, the total is out of 60 instead of 65. Any points
above 60 are bonus points. (This change is due to the fact that
the last question was quite hard.)
Specific comments on each question follow.


Q1/10: Some students give complicated solutions. To prove (1) from (2)
an easy way is to take A to be some false formula (e.g., p and not p).

Q2/10: Some students did not give a clear structured proof: they prove
using induction, but there is no base case, no stated induction
hypothesis.

Q3/10: Most people got full mark for this question, although few did
not argue cut-elimination correctly.

Q4/15: Part a and b are relatively easy, but only a few peopel get
full mark for part c.

Q5/5: Most people got full mark

Q6/15: This is the hardest question. Only one student got full mark.
