My
research interests include
- Big Data and database management systems
- Spatial, spatio-temporal and graph data management
- Parallel, distributed and high performance computing
- Cloud Computing
I am interested in all aspects of Big Data management, including
the management of spatial, spatio-temporal, graph, scientific and
bio-chemical data. As part of my research, I have developed
Niharika, a spatial data analysis system for the Cloud. I also built a parallel in-memory spatial query execution system called
SPINOJA. Recently, I developed an in-memory spatio-temporal index
PASTIS
that supports order of magnitude better update throughput than the
state-of-the-art, while supporting thousands of concurrent historical,
present and predictive spatio-temporal range queries. Previously we
introduced a spatial database benchmark called
Jackpine, which can be accessed
here.
As part of
my MSc thesis,
I
developed a realistic mobility model generator called
GEMM. The paper on GEMM can be read
here
I worked several years
in the software industry prior to joining the PhD program. Recently I
have been a Research Intern at SAP, Canada. A CV
can be provided upon request.
