I want you to read Chapters 2 in sufficient detail that you know
*what* each of the major programming languages listed is.  (E.g.,
"What is COBOL?", "What is ALGOL and when was it developed (approximately)?"
and since we're looking at typing later in the class, "Is JAVA a typed
language?"  "Is Scheme a typed language".
I also expect you to know the sections on functional and logic programming
languages in more detail.
