Brief project description:

The Vagabond system developed at our group systematically generates and visualizes explanations for errors in data exchange, i.e., errors that arise when translating data from one database to another. The explanations generated by Vagabond are very helpful when debugging data exchange transformations. However, for non-trivial cases the number of explanations can be prohibitively large limiting the applicability of the system.

In this project, the student will develop, implement, and evaluate new algorithms for ranking explanations generated by Vagabond to allow the user to focus on likely explanations first.
