- Oct. 7, 2009; because of the said migration, CPLEX will no
longer be available from /p/learning; it will be available from
/p/cl/pkgs/ilog/...
- Oct. 7, 2009; finally we migrated all the Machine Learning /w
directories to a new file server. Access to /w directories from the
cluster should be much faster. The new file server is running
the Areca 1280ML controller.
- Sept. 29, 2009; stay tuned for Matlab 7.9; I downloaded
it and waiting for cslab to install the new license on the
server
- June 9, 2009; the following packages have been updated
on most (all) systems:

- May 28, 2009; Matlab 7.8 installed on all systems as
/pkgs/matlab-7.8 but /usr/local/bin/matlab does not point to
7.8 yet, so run via /pkgs/matlab-7.8/bin/matlab
- May 12, 2009; all systems updated and upgraded to the newest
packages; this includes a new kernel, so please soft reboot (CTRL-ALT-BKSPC,
CTRL-ALT-DEL) to boot the new kernel
- April 2, 2009: the /usr/local/bin/matlab script will now start
version 7.7; /usr/local/bin/matlab76 and .../matlab75 will start
the appropriate versions
- March 31, 2009: a number of updates, including security updates
have been applied to all AIS machines (any machine with a sticker
xyz.ais.sandbox, and an ip 192.168.63.abc); please reboot your machine
when you get a chance
- March 27, 2009: the following packages are being updated on most

- March 25, 2009: installed Matlab 7.7 in /pkgs/matlab-7.7; for now run it via /pkgs/matlab-7.7/bin/matlab, but starting Monday I recommend using the default /usr/local/bin/matlab script
- March 25, 2009: installed new Adobe Reader in /pkgs/acroread-9.1; run it via /usr/local/bin/acroread
