Contest Rules: "It seemed like a great idea at the time"

Microsoft Word printable version

Criteria for entry: An entry must be something - an A&S project, a research paper, an article of garb, a neat gadget or other object - that did not quite turn out as intended at the beginning. There will be a special sub-category for projects that started out as something that did not work out, but were changed into something useful. This is the farfalla category.

Criteria for disqualification: The entry must not be potentially or actually eligible for any other variety of SCA competition. The display of the object by the owner must not be a source of esteem or admiration for the owner. Positive comments by a Laurel or anyone aspiring to be a Laurel may be grounds for immediate disqualification of the entry. Praise by the Minister of Propaganda shall be proof of eligibility.

Judging: Everyone attending will receive a booklet of ballots upon payment, in lawful tender, of the site fee and may cast a vote for each entry. A second and each succeeding booklet cost $2. Proceeds go to the Lord Mayor's Fund of the Royale Citie of Eoforwic.

The Award of Prizes: Prizes may be awarded if the entries are up to a high enough, that is, low enough, standard. Any relationship between the award of some prizes and the votes received by winning entries may be purely coincidental and unintentional.

Important: Any determination by the Contest Steward on the tally of votes, the award of prizes, the eligibility of entries, the disqualification of entries and all other questions or matters relating to the contest is final; that is, until she changes her mind.

Note: Any person attempting to bribe the Contest Steward (Cash only, no credit cards or cheques) will be dealt with in accordance with the laws of the Royale Citie as interpreted by the City Solicitor.
