Shortened Turbo Codes
David J C MacKay
Simple arguments suggest that shortened codes must have distance
properties equal to or better than those of their parent codes, and
that they should be equally practical to decode. This relationship
holds true in the case of low density generator codes and low density
parity check codes. We investigate the properties of shortened turbo
codes.
