In 2018-19, I was a Senior Research Engineer at Samsung AI Center (SAIC) in Toronto where I worked on Natural Language Processing (and a bit of Computer Vision). I was part of the team that developed VASTA (https://arxiv.org/abs/1911.01474).
In 2017-18, I was a Research Engineer at VerticalScope where I used Natural Language Processing and Machine Learning to organize and mine useful information from millions of discussion forum posts.
In 2016-17, I was a Software Engineer at an early stage AI startup where I developed image recognition and object detection systems from the ground up.
In January 2016, I completed M.Sc. in Computer Science at University of Toronto, specifically working in the Computational Linguistics Lab under the supervision of Prof. Graeme Hirst. My master's research culminated in the development of a novel sequence modeling approach for categorizing discussion forum posts using few or no manual labels (semi-supervised/unsupervised machine learning). The developed method beat the erstwhile state-of-the-art in the field. You can find the paper here.
In 2012, I completed my undergraduate studies in Information Systems at Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS) Pilani, Rajasthan, India.
