CSC 444 end of term essay
Based on what you have learned and experienced in this course, identify
one improvement item in software engineering. First identify the problem,
describe it, provide support based on your project experience, assess the
importance of the problem, and propose a possible solution.
Rules
- Your essay must be typed on an 8.5" x 11" white sheet, font 12 or
bigger, with one inch margin all around. Your name and student number can
be placed in the top margin.
- You essay must have the following rough format: the problem statement,
importance of the problem, your empirical support, and your proposal. In other
words, three or four paragraphs at most.
- Each student must write individually and each team member must choose
a different topic.
- Each student must work individually. Any similarities between essays
will be looked upon unfavorably.
- The topic of your essay must be listed in the improvement items for
your team presentation.
What to hand in
Each student must hand in a printed copy as well as a plain text electronic
copy. (The electronic copy will be used for automatic comparisons.)
Submit your electronic copy via email to homy at ecf by using the following
subject line:
CSC 444 - Essay for (YOUR NAME) (YOUR STUDENT NUMBER)
replacing the brackets with your name and student number. Make sure
this email contains only your essay in plain ASCII text!
Drop your hard copy in the assignment drop boxes.
Due date
The essays are due on the last day of classes. However, the topic of your essay
is due when your team submits their presentation. (Your topic is one of the
improvement items on the last slide.)
This assignment is worth 5 marks and each student receive a mark individually.
