May 8: Unofficial final marks are posted.
Official final marks come from the faculty. Have a good summer!
Apr 21: The complete term marks have been posted. Leftover term
work including Assignment 4 can be picked up outside my office, at least until
the exam. Questions about the grading of Assignment 4 can be taken to the TA
in PT 276 on Monday Apr 24th, 1:30-2:30pm.
Apr 13: The text of the review done in class is
here.
Apr 13: The university is closed tomorrow, so there is no office
hour. There will be one more office hour after the end of the term on Friday
Apr 21 at 10:30.
Apr 7: The lecture on Tuesday Apr 11th will be for Q and A only.
The final lecture on Thursday Apr 13th will finish the notes and do a review
for the exam.
Apr 6: There's a nasty error in the wording of Assignment 4,
Question 3a. (Thanks to Prof. Baumgartner for finding it.). The question says
"You may use without proof the fact that"; but it should say "You may assume
that it is sufficient to prove that". So your job in part (a) is to show that
x is accepted by M iff x is of the form u10v as
explained there.
Apr 4: Assignment 4 must be handed in on Thursday Apr 13th.
(The next day is the end of term.)
Mar 31: The final class on April 13 will be a review and
preparation for the final exam.
Mar 30: There will be no TA office hours on Apr 3 and Apr 5.
Mar 21: I won't be here for the office hour on Friday of this
week.
Mar 10: Solution to the test will be covered in the tutorial on
Mar 16. It will not be posted.
Feb 14: Solutions to assignments are at the same place as the
Lecture Notes, here,
with the same password.
Feb 14: Slide 56 did not have the right recursive procedure. A
new improved version is here
Feb 10: In response to some questions, details about how marks
will be assigned for the quizzes can be found here
Jan 21: The next quiz will be at the tutorial on Thurs Jan 26.
Jan 17: The first quiz will be held on Thurs Jan 19 at 10am
in your tutorial. Remember to bring a blue/black pen and a red pen.
Jan 17: Beginning next week, there will be office hours as
follows: instructor, PT 398E, Friday 10:30; tutor, PT 276, Monday and
