About

I lead the Security Analytics Infrastructure team within the Financial Modeling Group at BlackRock in New York City. A common theme underlying many of the projects I've been involved in over the years has been providing Aladdin clients with flexible access to pricing models and security analytics.

Before moving to New York I spent a year and a half working as an Algorithm Engineer at TinEye, a Toronto startup specializing in reverse image search. My contributions there centered around boosting performance via a combination of low-level and algorithmic optimizations. I was also involved in many aspects of shipping a library licensed to Adobe, from designing the "image stacking" and "video diffing" algoritms to updating the User Guide and writing the packaging scripts.

Prior to that, I was a PhD student in Computer Science at the University of Toronto, advised by the inimitable Charlie Rackoff. My research was in the area of Cryptography. After completing my distribution requirements I left with a Master's to join Idée. My undergraduate degree in Computer Science and Mathematics is also from the University of Toronto, where I attended Trinity College, graduating with High Distinction.
