PlagiarismEach year, especially in first-year courses, the University prosecutes a significant number of students for Academic Offences. You must familiarize yourself with the University's Code of Behaviour on Academic Matters. The work you submit must be your own. In particular, you may not discuss or show any part of your assignment work (including any rough work) to anyone else except me or your TA, until 24 hours after the due time. Most students who commit an offence by looking at someone else's work report that they did so out of panic shortly before the assignment was due, often because university is the first time they faced not getting close to perfect on every exercise/assignment. So seek out help early if you are having difficulties. Also, accepting a zero is better than the penalty for submitting plagiarized work, which usually is at least double the entire assignment weight. Assignment 1The specification.
