Professional experience
- 1999 - 2000: FORTH, Institute of Computer Science, Heraklion, Crete, Greece
Software Engineer. I was with the Center for Medical Informatics and Health Telematics Applications (CMI-HTA; recently renamed to Biomedical Informatics Laboratory).
I was a member of the Health Information Infrastructure (HII) working group, within CMI-HTA;
the HII group designs and implements the health information infrastructure of the
HYGEIAnet (HYGEIAnet is the integrated health telematics network of Crete).
I was working on the design and implementation of the HYGEIAnet's User Information (Profiling) Service. The objective of my work was the selective dissemination of information to the users of the HYGEIAnet.

Analysis, design and implementation of medical information systems; analysis, design and implementation of a Monitoring Station for the Intensive Care Unit (founded by the Greek General Secretariat for Research and Technology as part of the IHIS project), which was installed at the "Evangelismos" hospital's ICU (in Athens); experience in object-oriented programming; experience in middleware technologies; research concerning software agents.

Theoretic teaching of courses in Informatics; laboratory training of students.
- 1998 - present: Teaching assistant for various CS courses (@UofT and @UofC), including: OO Analysis and Design, Software Design, Machine Learning, Performance Evaluation, and programming languages courses.
