Assignment 4

Assignment 3

Assignment 2

Assignment 1

"Silent Running" policy

We want to encourage you to start working early on each assignment. We also want to avoid posting clarifications or updates at the last minute, when they could require you to make significant changes to your solutions. For these reasons, we will follow a "silent running" policy for each assignment.

This means that on the week that an assignment is due, we will guarantee that no further entries will be posted on the assignment FAQ page after 5pm on Wednesday. Also, we will stop answering e-mail questions about the assignment at the same time, i.e., any e-mail question asked after 5pm on Wednesday will NOT be replied to, with the exception of peripheral questions (out of curiousity and not for help on the assignment), which we will answer after the late due time.

Submission instructions

The CDF FAQ contains general instructions for submitting your work electronically (under the "Submitting Work" section).

Every assignment will consist of a number of "pencil-and-paper" questions (whose solution involves no programming and can be handwritten or typed), as well as a "programming" question (whose solution will involve some amount of programming).

The pencil-and-paper part of each assignment must be handed in using the cover sheet for assignments (Adobe PDF document), at the beginning of your regularly scheduled tutorial. (See the "important dates" for the exact assignment due dates, and the course schedule for tutorial times.)

The programming part of each assignment must be submitted using the "submit" mechanism on CDF, by the beginning of your regularly scheduled tutorial. More detailed instructions will be provided on this webpage, and/or for individual assignments.

If you require special consideration for one of your assignments (e.g., because of illness), please read the policy on special consideration carefully.
