I very much prefer plain text messages (rather than HTML formatted with fonts, colours, etc.) in this medium, as I routinely use text-based programs such as mutt to access email. The exception is file attachments when absolutely necessary (for formatted documents, PDF is excellent; please, no unsolicted MS Word files)
