David Warde-Farley, M.Sc.
Dept. of Computer Science & Donnelly CCBR
I completed my M. Sc. in the Department of Computer Science in 2009, under the supervision of Quaid Morris. I'm currently on leave from graduate studies (but not entirely from research) for the 2009-2010 academic year. I did my undergrad degree at U of T as well, finishing with an Honours Bachelor of Science, with a Specialist in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence option.
My primary research interest is the development of machine learning methods, primarily as they relate to problems in computer vision and computational biology, as well as a latent, related interest in computational neuroscience.
A secondary interest that follows from the first is in high performance/scientific computing, specifically the open source kind (even more specifically the Python kind), and in accelerating science through the use of consumer graphics hardware for scientific calculation.

- February 2010: I've been making frequent use of GitHub and I've moved all my code snippets into GitHub's gists mechanism; I've updated the links in my Software page (and eventually plan to automatically pull them via the GitHub API).
- January 2010: R.I.P. Sam Roweis, a beloved teacher and mentor. You will be missed.
- December 2008: Nature Biotechnology accepted our manuscript about PPI networks and breast cancer. Congratulations, Ian!
