Because of the year-by-year phase-in, students who begin their UofT studies in 2002/03 or later (or more importantly, who begin their second-year computer science studies in 2003/04 or later) should follow the new curriculum. Students who began earlier will be able to continue following the old curriculum. But there will be some exceptions, or mismatches.
