Getting Something Remarked

General guidelines

If you disagree with or are confused about your mark on an assignment or test, then you should speak directly to the person who marked yours at a regular TA office hours in the cdfpc lab. For each assignment, you will find the marker's names and their office hours listed below.

Problems are usually solved quickly when you speak to the marker directly.

Only if you fail to reach an agreement with the marker, or if you cannot attend at the appropriate time, should you contact your professor about your mark. In that case, you must make a written request, using the Request for Remarking form in the course Handbook. Bring it, plus the entire assignment or midterm to your professor. For each assignment and test, there is a dealine (listed below) after which remark requests will not be accepted.

If you are just concerned about how you are doing in the course, please drop by and talk your professor.

See the course handbook, section 8.12 for more information.

Assignment 4

Because there are no more TA office hours, any request for remarking for assignment 4 must be made in writing (using the Request for Remarking form in the handbook). Submit the entire assignment, including envelope and marking sheet, plus the Request form to your professor. For me (Horton), if I am out, slip it under my door.

It is important that all requests be submitted before the final exam so that there is time to process them before we must submit the grades.

Assignment 3

The TA who marked your assignment has written their name at the top of the marking sheet (enclosed in the envelope). These are the times when you can speak to them in person at the cdfpc lab:
Mon Apr 06, 5-6 pm Nancy Yuen
Mon Apr 06, 8-9 pm Nancy Yuen & Kiam Choo
Tue Apr 07, 5-6 pm Neil Gower
Wed Apr 08, 5-6 pm Neil Gower & Frank van Bussel

The deadline for requesting a remark is Thursday April 9th.

Midterm 2

In Horton's section (and probably Mitchell's), midterms will be returned in tutorial on Wednesday 25 March. Sills will probably hand his back on Tuesday 24 March.

If you are not in class on the return day, you may get your midterm back from your professor in office hours.

One TA marked all of midterm 2, for all sections: Michael Neff. These are the times when you can speak to him in person at the cdfpc lab:

      Mon 30 Mar 5-6 pm
      Tue 31 Mar 5-6 pm
The deadline for requesting a remark of your midterm is Friday April 3rd.

Assignment 2

Assignments were returned in tutorial on Tuesday & Wednesday, March 10 and 11. The TA who marked your assignment has written their name at the top of the marking sheet (enclosed in the envelope). These are the times when you can speak to them in person at the cdfpc lab:

The deadline for requesting a remark is Friday March 20th.

Assignment 1

Assignments will be returned in tutorial on Wednesday, February 25th. If you go to tutorial and your assignment is not there, these are the possible explanations: If neither of these seem applicable, you should speak to their professor.
