CSC 148H: INTRODUCTION TO
COMPUTER SCIENCE
Old Announcements -- Week 1
- Fri 10 Jan: C students: getting used to Borland
-
For those of you are using Borland C for the first time, the Borland
notion of a "project" is hard to figure out.
Click
here
for a description of how to create and run a C program,
including how to tell Borland what it wants to know about your "project".
(These instructions come from Professor Clarke's 108 class last fall.)
- Fri 10 Jan: Examples of parameter passing in C
-
to see an example program that
demonstrates variations on parameter passing in C.
- Fri 10 Jan: A0 starter code in C
-
The starter code for students doing A0 in C
is now available. Follow the "Assignments and Tests"
link below.
- Fri 10 Jan: Computer accounts
-
Both the Course Handbook and the published lecture slides say that
computer accounts for the course begin with "a148".
This used to be the case, but is no longer true; they now begin
with "s148" to indicate
that this is a spring course.
A complete list of the current student accounts for csc148
is posted on the 148 corkboard (outside SF 2302c).
Accounts are updated usually each Monday,
after which I post a revised list.
- Fri 10 Jan: lecture notes and handbook
-
A copy of each of these is on reserve
in the Engineering Library (Sandford Fleming Building, 2nd floor).
Ask for them at the checkout desk.
Be sure to read pages 1-22 of the Handbook.
- Thu 09 Jan: Anna Sosis's tutorial
-
One of our TAs will be away for the next two tutorials.
For that reason, students in Anna Sosis's tutorial
(normally in room SS 1072) will join the students in
MP 203 for the next two tutorials
on Wed 15 Jan and Wed 22 Jan.
Anna will teach the combined class.
- Thu 09 Jan: Roster for TA office hours
-
A list showing which TAs are covering which office hours is
now available.
See "Course Information" below, or click
here.
