Course content

The actual material in the course is interesting and very practical, but mastering it is not a big problem for most students. The text for the main course material is:

• Files and Databases: an introduction by P.D. Smith and G.M. Barnes; Addison-Wesley 1988.
  You should be able to buy this used. Be warned that students find this book boring and consider it out-dated. However, the material is quite timeless, and it is the best book we have been able to find.
