Jennifer Campbell

[Jennifer Campbell]

Jen received a BSc in Computer Science from the University of Prince Edward Island and an MMath degree from the University of Waterloo. She has been a Lecturer in the CS Department at the University of Toronto since 2003. Jen spends some of her spare time running and she has completed two half marathons and a marathon. The rest of her spare time is spent travelling, watching movies and enjoying great food.

Michael Szamosi

[Michael Szamosi]

Michael Szamosi has an undergraduate degree in mathematics, and a Master's in linguistics. He spent much of the 1970's and early 80's in the U.S. and Canada teaching linguistics and languages and doing research in theoretical syntax and second-language acquisition. In 1982 Michael did graduate coursework in computer science at the University of Waterloo---sufficient to land him a job at Bell Northern Research. He worked there for 18 years, mainly on Nortel's voice messaging products, as a softwere engineer with the most varied duties imaginable (component designer, feature implementation prime, voice prompt designer, project coordinator, software build manager, field support person, problem tracking coordinator, etc.). Michael is now a lecturer in Computer Science at UTSC. His outside interests include showing off his language skills, hiking in the Dolomites in northern Italy, playing percussion (not too well) in several groups (Escola de Samba de Toronto, Kekeli African Drum and Dance Ensemble, F-Zero: U of T Linguistics Dept House Band), and listening to good music of all sorts.
