3.1 Overview

WebCat has two groups of components, one group is related to the integration process itself; the other group is dedicated to handle user queries. We call these groups Integrator Components (IC) and User Components (UC), respectively. IC is intended for the use of the person who performs the integration and UC is intended for the general user. These two groups share a common component that is the virtual catalog. The system architecture is presented in Figure 3.
