It is designed to help you get started with VisualAge for Java. Before this tutorial, you should read the PC97 Guide (by Jim Clarke) and the VisualAge for Java Guide (by Tom West). Section 5 of the VisualAge Guide explains how to enter a Java program in the VisualAge environment. We'll do this example during the tutorial. If you get stuck, I can help you one-on-one. If you finish this example, then you can continue on with other examples from the VisualAge for Java Guide. ------------- If you missed this tutorial, the most important information that you missed is that you must always export any programs (store them on the H: drive) that you are working on before you exit Visual Age for Java. While you are working in Visual Age for Java your program is stored on one of the system disks. After you exit Visual Age for Java and log out, your programs will be removed from this disk. You must export your Java files to a directory (folder) on the H: drive. Please ask a TA during the office hours if you need more help with this.
