YEOWOMEN UPSET U OF T IN OWIAA HOCKEY FINAL

The York Yeowomen upset previously undefeated University of Toronto
Blues 3-2 in double overtime yesterday to capture the OWIAA ice hockey
championship in Waterloo.

The Blues were 13-0-2 this season and had won the OWIAA title in 14
of the previous 18 seasons.

YEOWOMEN 3, BLUES 2 (2 OT)

"I can't remember the last time York defeated Toronto," Yeowomen
assistant coach Chris Jones said.

Shanley White scored the winning goal at 1:48 of the second
overtime.

York had won its semi-final game on Saturday, winning 2-1 in triple
over Wilfrid Laurier, the host school of the weekend games.
U of T advanced to the final with a 4-1 win over Guelph.
