These are some cool projects that we know use ToXgene.

  • Evolutionary Environments for the Design of Buildings

    Patrick Janssen
Design Technology Research Centre, School of Design, Hong Kong Polythecnic University

Summary: This project proposes an alternative approach to the design of buildings. The proposed methodology relies on a software environment for design that synthesises the design schema tactic with the use of evolutionary algorithms, loosely based on the neo-Darwinian model of evolution through natural selection. The particular system being used is based on XML as its input format for the different representations (genotypes, phenotypes, transformators, parameter lists, etc); ToXgene is used to generate input documents containing initial random populations of genotypes.

If you are using ToXgene as part of your work, we want to hear from you. Please send us a short summary of your project and let us know what you think of ToXgene, why you are using it, and what for. We would like your project to be the next in our list!
