    Homework 2

    Textbook problems:

      2.50, 2.58, 3.3, 3.4, 3.13, 3.17, 4.1, 4.4, 4.8, 4.15, 4.17, 4.18

    Playing with ping:

Use the ping command to measure and report the average round trip time
between cs01.erin.utoronto.ca and the following machines:

      (a) www.toronto.edu
      (b) www.ubc.ca
      (c) www.cs.nyu.edu
      (d) www.cs.monash.edu.au

For each, estimate the physical distance between cs01.erin.utoronto.ca
and the destination. Calculate the speed-of-light round-trip delay given
this distance. At what fraction of the speed of light did your ping
      packets travel, for each?

    Bonus traceroute problem:

Use "traceroute" to determine the path taken between
cs01.erin.utorontoc.ca and www.japan.co.jp. From its output, using your
powers of sleuthing, google, and best guesses, describe the geographical
path the packets take -- cities and countries.
