CSLab VPN on Windows XP

Click Start -> Click Control Panel -> Double-click Network Connections -> Click New Connection Wizard -> Next ->
Toggle "Connect to the network at my workplace" -> Toggle "Virtual Private Network connection" -> Next ->
Supply Name (e.g. CSLab) -> Toggle Do not dial the initial connection" -> Next ->
For "Host name or IP addess" supply "pptp.cs.toronto.edu" -> Next ->
Click Finish

A window should now pop up titled "Connect CSLab".

Click Properties -> select Security tab ->
Toggle Advanced [custom settings] ->
Click Settings and make the following configuration changes:

Data encryption: Require encryption
Deselect: Microsoft CHAP [MS-CHAP]
Select: Microsoft CHAP Version Version 2 [MS-CHAP v2]

Deselect: For MS-CHAP based protocols, automatically use my Windows logon name and password (and domain if any)

Click OK to return to the Connect Virtual Private Connection window.

Supply your username and the CSLab supplied password, and click Connect.
