Life at UofT

Toronto is one of the most cultural diversified cities in North America. It is a city of immigrants; about half of its residents were born outside Canada. Toronto is home to virtually all of the world's culture groups and is the city where more than 100 languages and dialects are spoken.

University of Toronto St. George campus is conveniently located in the centre of the downtown area of the city. It is close to many interesting districts with distinct characters, e.g. the Annex, Yorkville, Kensington Market, Chinatown, Little Italy, etc. (learn more) A couple of museums and art centres are around, such as Royal Ontario Museum, Bata Shoe Museum, and Art Gallery of Ontario.

From time to time, the graduate students union organizes Grad Escapes events to a concert or a baseball game etc. The Four Seasons Centre for the Performing Arts also runs free concerts series every week.

There are numerous places to accommodate any of your interests. Come to explore! BTW, Toronto is one of the safest large cities in North America. (See statistics)
