Title: False dogmas and real incentives on the Internet
Abstract: The advance of the Internet is hobbled by many false
myths, such as that "content is king," that asymmetric connections
for residential users are appropriate, that streaming video will
dominate, and that user traffic has to be throttled to prevent a
collapse of the network. These dogmas ignore lessons of history
as well as current reality. The clash of these false perceptions
with the real incentives that drive the development of the Internet
will be discussed.
